Watch the AFUK’s Underground Fishing Adventure Supporting Cancer Research
We’ve got something seriously unique to share with you—an adventure that blends urban exploration, light tackle fishing, and a meaningful cause.
Adventure Fishing UK has just released a brand-new film:
“Fishing the Old Tunnel System... (UNDER the City Centre!)”
Fishing Beneath the City Streets
This isn’t your typical day on the bank.
In this latest film, George Lamb from Adventure Fishing UK ventures deep beneath a city centre, exploring an old tunnel system where a hidden stream still flows. In near darkness, surrounded by brickwork, echoing water, and tight casting spaces, he manages to locate and catch wild trout living in this unexpected environment.
It’s a fascinating look at how fish can thrive in the most unusual places—and how adaptable light tackle fishing can be when paired with the right gear.
Despite the challenging conditions, George lands 10 trout during the session, making it not just an incredible exploration—but a successful fishing trip too.
Turning Every Catch Into Something Bigger

This adventure is about more than fishing.
For every fish caught in the video:
• Adventure Fishing UK donates £10
• Rigged and Ready matches it with another £10
With 10 fish caught, that’s already:
£200 raised for Cancer Research UK
…and counting.
We’re incredibly proud to be partnering with George on this initiative—using fishing as a force for good.
How You Can Support the Cause
If you enjoy the video, you can help make an even bigger impact:

The Gear Behind the Adventure
For this session, George relied on one of our most versatile setups:
The Fish Rig 180 paired with the RR1000 Reel
The Fish Rig 180 is a super-light telescopic rod designed for anglers who want maximum flexibility in a compact setup. It’s perfect for travel, urban fishing, and tight environments like the tunnels featured in this film.
Key features include:
• Ultra-compact telescopic design – easy to carry anywhere
• Three interchangeable tips – allowing you to adjust for different casting weights and fishing styles
• Sensitive action – ideal for detecting subtle bites, especially when targeting species like trout
• Lightweight build – perfect for long sessions and precision fishing in confined spaces
Matched with the RR1000 reel, it creates a balanced, responsive setup that’s ready for anything—from city streams to remote locations.
Fishing With Purpose

This project is a great example of what fishing can be about beyond the catch.
It’s about:
• Exploring new environments
• Pushing boundaries
• And contributing to something that truly matters
Both Adventure Fishing UK and Rigged and Ready have pledged to keep supporting this effort—and we’d love for you to be part of it too.
Even if you’re not able to donate, simply watching, subscribing, or sharing helps push this initiative further.
Thanks for taking the time to watch the film and support such an important cause.
Together, small actions can lead to something big.
Tight lines,
Rigged and Ready
