TELESCOPIC FISHING RODS INSTRUCTION GUIDE

OPEN

1.   Try not to extend the rod too forcibly.
2.   Open the rod from the tip section (thin section) to bottom one by one (thicker section).
3.   Don't apply any sideway pressure.
4.   Extend sections individually making sure it's snug but not tight. 
5.   Do not apply too much pressure when pulling sections out.
6.   Make sure the eyes of the rod are in line
7.   Finally, shake the rod and see if you can hear any slight sound. If you do one of the sections is not fully extended, identify it and extend it properly. 

CLOSE

1.   Close in the opposite direction. 
2.   Start with the bottom section, collapsing them to the tip.
3.   Hold each section at its thickest point.
4.   Do not to apply any sideway pressure.
5.   Place the bottom of the rod on a flat surface and push each in. 
6.   Loosen the joints, holding the two sides of joints using a twisting motion.
7.   Draw in the fishing rod from the butt section by turns. 

AVOID A STUCK JOINT

1.   Rods may become jammed due to dirt or extending too forcibly. 
2.   Keep your rod off the ground at all times to avoid dirt in the joints. 
3.   Wipe it clean with a cloth before taking it down. 
4.   If used in saltwater give it a rinse with freshwater.
5.   Put a protectant like WD-40 or a silicon lube on the joints. 

FIX A STUCK JOINT

1.   Try to force the thinner section in by twisting them.
2.   Stand the rod butt on a hard surface. Hold it above the stuck joint. 
3.   Gently lift and lightly tap the stuck section on the ground.
4.   Try a penetrating lubricant like WD-40. Leave the joint for an hour.
5.   Pour hot water on large side of the joint to rapidly expand it.
