Monster Pike with Predator Rod
Catching a MONSTER while lure fishing for pike using the Savage gear snake. Best fight of my life. What makes it even more special is that it was caught on an overgrown stretch of forgotten canal that's shallow, blocked off to any boat traffic, hardly ever fished and was cleaned out by otters a few years back. Have spent many trips fishing here only catching fish to about 4lb but after speaking to a few locals I've been chasing the rumoured double for quite some time. To catch it on a topwater snake was something else. So much adrenaline and I was lucky my friends mum happened to be walking past with her dog to help me film and untangle my net. Thanks Alison! Another nearby stretch has rumours of a fish even bigger than this one so that's my next challenge.
